Microphone not detecting

hmm well my gut tells me that the sensor or ship in the mic got shorted too, so *if* you can, maybe try to open up the mic n check if the parts look like they were smoked and/or are black in color, as that means you've got a dead mic

I have a condenser mic that I can't get working. I accidentally shorted my previous power supply by plugging it in the wrong voltage outlet. I've since then bought a new power supply lights up but no sound is recorded. I checked the settings and the visual sound bar doesn't even flinch when I speak into the microphone. It was working just fine a month ago.

When I open Realtek Audio Console (idk if this is the correct software to check), it has a black screen with the text "Realtek Audio Console doesn't support for this machine.". Idk if this is the issue or if there's another underlying problem.

I just have a cheap generic microphone with no software support. It worked just fine for almost a year. After the incident, I'm not sure if the mic was damaged long with the old power supply. Not knowing much about condenser mics, I would assume that the short didn't affect the mic itself. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Was the mic connected to the power supply ( or pc, wherever your mic gets power from) when it shorted?

Yes it was because I was just about to use it. When I turned it on, I noticed that I'm not getting any sound so I do the usual on/off and see if that works. When it didn't, I did a power cycle, unplugged it from my PC and outlet but while I was waiting a couple seconds, I read up on the little sticker on the AC adapter and remembered that it was for a 110v not 220v or how much it is in our country.

It literally has no brand. I guess the "BM800" is the brand or model but it was the cheapest I could find to just have a good looking microphone.

It's one of these: https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/bm800-bm800-plus-condenser-microphone-pro-audio-studio-sound-recording-nb35-arm-stand-6-inch-pop-filter-combo-kit-full-set-best-price-i315328711-s3573328342.html?spm=a2o4l.searchlist.list.26.7bcc3a6bW02wHw&search=1

What else was connected to the power supply? Did all those things short too? or just your mic?

Only the mic was connected to the power supply since it was it's own phantom power supply. Okay so the 3 things plugged in the power supply was the cable that connects to the mic, the one that has the audio jack for the pc and the adapter connection. I forgot which one is the line in/out.

lol um okay are there any other indications such as lights or sounds on your mic that would mean that the mic is turned on?

On the mic itself, no. But I did however buy another phantom power supply (as I thought this was the one that got damaged when things shorted). The power supply turns on but that's about it.

hmm well my gut tells me that the sensor or ship in the mic got shorted too, so *if* you can, maybe try to open up the mic n check if the parts look like they were smoked and/or are black in color, as that means you've got a dead mic

Looks like my mic is dead. There's no obvious damage on the chip that I can see but apparently (for who knows what reason) you can get these mics in a 110v variant. Time to get a new mic.
