hdd installing help

 I recently found a laptop hdd of my mother's I have some sata cable the power connector's but no bracket can I until I get the correct bracket stack this little drive on my hdd?

You can, but the vibration would probably transfer between drives and that wouldn't be good for them

 

You can stack SSD's on top of HDD's, but I still wouldn't do that. They make brackets for a reason

For a week or so. Don't do it if you don't have to. Just ghetto mount it to the bottom of your case or something. Just don't stack them.

 

The biggest risk is knocking your PC tower over. and damaging either the motor in the HDD or damaging the platters themselves. 

 

If I were you, I would hold out on stacking the drives, if you don't need to.

Yes. As long as that optical drive isn't working. Heat can also be an issue, but it won't kill your drives.

 

It comes down to personal preference. Yes, it will work just fine, and you probably won't have any issues. But, I wouldn't do it because I like to be careful.

You don't want either of the two sides to be fully covered by anything.

I bet you could get away with creative use of rubber bands, but this is not recommended.

Would something like two bottlecaps work till I get the bracket in a week or so.
