Storage cable mistake

So I've figured out that I've most likely crashed all of my drives at once. The thing is that I don't know how I did it and I'd like to figure it out so I won't make the same mistake again. The only possible thing I can think of, is that I plugged the peripheral cable in the wrong PSU plug (maybe the one for the cpu). Could that be it?
