Hello everyone!

I have been having some issues with my speakers. Every time I plug them in, 3.5 jack into my monitor and USB into the wall, they produce a static noise. I think its something to do with electrical interference from the light reading I did on my problem. I have my monitor hooked up with an HDMI cable and it leads to an HDMI switcher, for my PC, PS4, and my Fire Stick. I would think the HDMI cable would carry sound from all these devises to the cable connected to my monitor, but I have no idea. All I want is my three devices to be hooked up to my cheap speakers so when I switch devises it just continues with sound for that device. I currently have my 3.5 plugged in to my PC since that's what I use the most, and I don't have the static noise at all. If there is a way to do what I would like. I know I didn't explain this very well but I don't know what to do.

Do you get static and the audio or just static? If there is no audio coming through, the HDMI switcher might not be capable of carrying audio, double check in your owners manual. If you hear audio but with static try bypassing the HDMI switch for now and try each device directly connected to the monitor, that way if it is one device that is causing the static you can identify it.

Okay I went ahead and tried this, and I still hear audio and static from all devices. This leads me to believe my monitor is creating this unpleasant noise. I also noticed my pc doesn't pick my speakers when plugged into my monitor. I took a look at the manual for the monitor and it describes the 3.5 input as a headphones port. I am not sure if this matters but would some sort of audio splitter that connects all of my devises to the speakers work? If so any suggestions on good ones?

The PC should display the monitor as the audio output, it won't be able to tell what speakers are connected to the monitor. If you are still getting static and audio on all devices, try hooking the speakers directly to any of the devices, that should confirm/eliminate the monitor as the culprit. Another thing you can try is using a different power source for the speakers, whether it is the computer, PS4, phone charger, doesn't really matter as long as it is a USB power source. Other than that I don't really know what to suggest.
