m.2 Issues - Including Disappearing....

I was curious if you guys might be able to help me out? I have an ADATA SX6000PNP 1tb m.2 NVME SSD that has been giving me headaches since I built this computer.

 

Everything went well with no issues in sight. However, about a month after using my PC, this drive kept disappearing randomly on boot up. Windows explorer showed the drive with a question mark next to it. This has been going on for the past year. So off to Google I went....and this is the solution that I found.

I went to device manager > disk drives > show hidden devices > uninstall the drive > shut down > unplug the cord > wait a bit > restart.

This has been working for a while now, but I'd really like to be able to use this drive without having to do that. I have the exact same model, 500GB, for the C drive and that has created zero issues for me.

I have tried everything from updating the driver, updating the MOBO driver, and going through the manual to no avail. At this point, I'm ready to do a return because I have an extended warranty. I really don't want to have to do that because my whole career is on this drive, I do have backup software (cloud and local) but I need it for day-to-day work.

I don't know if this helps, but here are my PC specs:

-G. Skill Ram 16GB clocked at 3200mhz

Howdy and welcome :)

 

I’ve heard of people having problems finding the drive initially but not having it disappear occasionally after it was working.  My first suspicion would be a barely connected connector but it could very well be something else.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I once had a guy with similar problem, in his case he had na Intel platform, and he OC the BCLK on it. When he reset it to 100MHz it was OK.

 

The second possibility is just a bad drive. It's a Realtek RTS5763DL, so it could be faulty.

 

So try restore the UEFi to default, if that don't help, just return the SSD if you can.
