Just built a PC, no display output but fans spin.

TheFacto

Built the PC as seen here, I used the identical parts listed apart from the ram. I went with a single stick of ddr4 2600 mhz 8gb of ram.

This build lacks a GPU, its a integrated graphics system so I can't plug the monitor into a graphics card. This is my first PC build. When I plug my monitor into the DVI port on the motherboard and boot the PC up the monitor says there's no signal. I thought it was a monitor issue so I tried to plug my TV in through the HDMI port and there was no signal still. Don't know what to do, I'm thinking its a ram issue but I need a professionals help.

You used the exact same CPU as in that video? Have you tried clearing the CMOS (unplug the PC, remove the battery, hold down the power button for 10 seconds then let it sit for a few minutes before putting the battery back in and turning it on).

Also, you're sure the board you have is running a BIOS that supports your CPU?

Check HDMI/DP cable, they might not work or be faulty. That's what happened to me with my first build.

Also check if the 8/4 pin CPU power cable is seated well, if there is one. This happened to Linus in their latest stream. He forgot to plug it in. The PC powered up but there was no video since the CPU wasn't working.

How many RAM sticks do you have?

1 ram stick, I just ordered two hyper x 2400 mhz (same frq as used in the vid). CPU cable is in as well, I plugged it and replugged it in multipletimes.

I originally thought it was the DVI but I used the HDMI that works perfectly fine for my xbox and there was still no signal

Yeah, used the exact CPU. I bought the one he linked in the description. Pretty sure the board can support that CPU since he never mentioned anything about the bios and the other guys that got it had everything work fine,.

Any of the debug lights on the motherboard on? All fans spin up normally? Also would recommend double checking all cables, when I did my first build I forgot to plug the CPU power in so the PC just did nothing, even though fans and everything spun up normally.

No debug lights that I can see turn on on the motherboard. The fans spin up normally. Just replugged in the CPU power cable for the 5th time and cleared CMOS. Still nothing. Really betting it being a ram issue, can ram do that?

If the RAM stick is dead, yes. Otherwise it shouldn't cause issues like that, if a motherboard cannot run the rated speeds it'll automatically select very loose settings that are guaranteed to boot.

I tried both slots and it didn't work in either.

If a motherboard was dead would it still have the CPU fans spin and turn on the peripherals?

I should have watched the video..... lol. I know not the specs.

So, depending on the board, update the bios. On select boards this can be done with the cpu and memory removed.

How do I update the bios?

A320M-A PRO MAX

Does not look like you can update the bios with the method I had mentioned.

The easiest way to test is with a different stick of memory, but one that uses a Jedec of 2133 not 2400.
