So my friend has 4gb of ram in his laptop, and it is suuuuuper slow, so i though we should upgrade it, i go to the page for his laptop (page: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/laptops/product-details/34443624) it says his system has "4 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) Transfer rates up to 2400 MT/s. 1 x 4 GB" which all sounds normal, except i have never heard of sdram, would a sodimm fit in a sdram slot? how about vice versa? I've never heard of sdram, and i just want to know more about it. Thank you!

A SSD would make a much bigger difference in overall snapiness, feel and loading times of the system compared to the extra ram.

SDram is just standard memory you find everywhere, it doesn't have anything special about it, so any 2400mhz dimm should do just fine. SDram stands for Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory. It's present in every piece of modern ram and it doesn't have a proprietary connector. All you should care about is what is listed before SDram which in this case is DDR4-2400mhz, which should tell you that you need to get DDR4 SODIMM 2400mhz memory for the system.image.png.570fcd56440c127666f74a081f7ae634.png
