Hello all. So for the past I don’t know maybe two weeks I have been wanting to reset my pc. But every time I don’t it I get the annoying error that says This pc wasn’t reset. No changes were made. Yeah that one. So I went to Google and tried to find a solution. All the solutions just didn’t work for me. So I am coming here for help. Does anyone have a different solution?

if it helps I built it and have Windows 10 and it is a legit version. By that I mean yes I paid the $100 for it. Hope that might help.

sites I have tried for solutions: https://softwarekeep.com/help-center/how-to-fix-there-was-a-problem-resetting-your-pc-error-on-windows-10 | https://windowsreport.com/fix-pc-reset-fails/?amp | https://www.ubackup.com/windows-10/there-was-a-problem-resetting-your-pc.amp.html

Have you tried backing up important files and wiping the drive for a fresh install?
Quite frankly, that is the preferred option. Windows' built in reset feature tends to leave a lot of junk behind.

download the media creation tool and create a bootable USB and install fresh from that. make sure you backup everything you need before you do since it will format the partition/drive before install.

I like this idea. Could you maybe provide exact instructions on how to do this? I do not want to mess up. Or provide a link.

to create the USB, everything you need is here

for the installation, plug in the USB, change the boot order through BIOS to start with the USB drive you created (or you might have an option on startup to select boot device prior to windows loading) and then just follow the prompts.

OK thanks

Sorry one last thing. After I change the boot installation I can take out the usb stick right? Also how long will this take? like will I have to go through the whole windows setup again?

I'm not entirely certain that I know what you're asking with the first part.
If you mean once you've installed Windows, yes. the thumb drive can be removed.

As for how long it will take, expect to block out around an hour (at the least) of time to get Windows installed and set up. It will be a completely fresh install.
