To name some boards, though if you're limited to these 3 boards, the b450 pro 4 is the best.

There are a few motherboards in the same price range that I don't know what to pick

ASRock B450 Pro4

ASRock B450m Steel Legend

Gigabyte B450m Aorus Elite

1. Do any of these motherboard's bios needs an update for ryzen cpu

2. Are there any other motherboards that could be better

3. What are the major differences between the motherboards

What are you powering? Budget? Location and currency?

The b450 pro 4 is the best one out of all of these 3, and it had a 3 phase using SM4337 and 3 SM4336, the steel legend is overpriced and is usually more expensive than something like the pro 4, yet performs worse and the b450m aorus elite is just not good.

But again, what are you powering? Budget? Are you limited to these? What are they priced at?

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

powering probably a ryzen 3100 or 3300x but will upgrade to a ryzen 5 3600

budget is around 100-200 AUD for the motherboard

the b450 pro4 is $149 AUD (same as the others)

Most b450 boards ship with zen 2 AGESA code support, if it says ryzen 3000 ready on the box, then it is.

MSI's max boards ship with zen 2 support out of the box.

If you got the board and it shipped with the older bios, you can just ask the vendor/ computer store to update it for you.
