Hey guys, been searching the Web and found some instructions on how to do this but not very clear.

Anyways, I thought of posting here because I can get a definite answer, so here's my question:

Could I combine both AMD and an NVidia graphics cards into one machine to run parallel?

I'd really love this due to advantages from both cards and to boost my performance. I already have an AMD Sapphire Radeon R9 270X in my PC.

Here are some specs:

Intel Core i5-4670, 3.4GHZ, 6MB Cache with LGA1150 plug.

Asus Motherboard Z87-Plus

Previously mentioned Sapphire GPU with Dual-X

Thunder 700W PSU

Coolermaster HAF (something) Case

And some optical drive

1 terabyte HDD

100GB SSD

Windows 8.1

So could I potentially fit an NVidia inside and more importantly use it parallel to my AMD card?

Thanks in advance, Its7up.

there is a way and linus made a video on it but it dosent give you double the performance like sli or crossfire so its not worth it

You can put both in a system, but you won't be able to use them at the same time. Not really practical...

You can do it but youd have to switch between the two. You'd get benefits of both but they wouldn't run alongside at the same time.

parallel.. no... they don't sli crossfire with each other.. that would be a nightmare

hybrid physX works..

that is using AMD card as main and NV card as physX

works in borderlands 2 and some other.when i tested it with lower tiered cards.

google hybrid physX lots of info available.
