Hi friends!

I recently purchased a Antec Three Hundred Two.

I wanted to get some opinions on if the right side panel fan (sits behind the motherboard, see pic) should be an intake or exhaust.

The current setup minus that fan is:

Left panel: Intake

Rear: Exhaust

Top: Exhaust

Thanks!

That’s.... incredibly useless. I wouldn’t even waste the money on putting a fan there. Besides accomplishing nothing thermally, it will move barely any air. Just because there is a place to put a fan, doesn’t mean you need to :)

Seriously, that’s completely useless. Even if you have a fan sitting around, it’s not worth the electricity.

I appreciate your input LIGSTX. - We'll see if that is so when I get the system put together.

I'll probably do some thermal tests to see how no fan / intake / exhaust affects the temps.

I am mostly curious to see if it has any notable affect on VRM / Chipset temperatures.

VRMs are on the other side of the board, and the chipset is not where the motherboard cutout is, so neither component will have any direct access to that fan.

I have a Cooler Master CM690 case with a spot for a slim fan, on other side of case where the CPUI would be but I never bothered to put one on there. If I did I would probably make it exhaust, but I really don't think it would do much. It think it was too much trouble to look for a 80mm slim fan back then.
