So I currently have 4 GBs of RAM in my laptop and I'm thinking of getting another stick to 1. run in dual channel and 2. have a usable amount of ram. So my question is, if I have a DDR3, 1600mhz PC3-12800 RAM, could I buy RAM that's DDR3 1600mhz, PC3L-12800S Ram?

I would get a whole 2x4gb kit of the ddr3 laptop 1600mhz ram, as sometimes the 2 seprate kits dont play nice.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

They're also usually not that much more expensive. Usually only ~50% more than a single stick.
