Cheap office build

Alesek

Budget (including currency): EUR 500 but cheaper is better

Country: Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Office work, PowerBI, programming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

parts that are not in the list are not needed.

I am trying to put together as cheap as possible office pc. The PC will be used for office work, PowerBI (cpu intensive), R scripts, etc. It will be only accessed through the network (if you can't get a VPN, at least get a local pc :) ) and it will run 24/7 (mostly idle though)

So basically more CPU cores is better, 16GB ram is a must, at least 500gb ssd, decent PSU

This is what I put together using tweakers.net:

Component Model Price
CPU Intel i5-10400 (Boxed) 180
Mobo Gigabyte H410M H 65
RAM Conrsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 60
SSD Kingston A2000 500GB 60
PSU Seasonic Core Gold GC 500 70
  Total: 435

What do you think about this?

Looks fine. Might be worth looking at used 2/3700xs when the 4000 series drops though.

I was thinking the same but buying used doesnt help as much when you can write off the VAT if you buy it new. And with AMD we gotta get a gpu for it too and that's just a hassle
