My mobo is gigabyte b450 gaming x, and i want to buy a Kingston A2000 nvme ssd.

Sadly, it doesn't listed in the supported M2 list on the motherboard's support web page.

I checked other gigabyte boards such as expensive ones like b450 aorus elite and b450m aorus and they don't have support for this SSD either.

I contacted their support and they gave a sketchy answer, saying that they cannot be certain but "it should work".

Do you think i should try it? There's a risk of reseller not accepting the ssd back if it doesn't work. That's what I fear sadly

That's the best answer you're going to get, most likely. Everything should be up to the relevant standards, so I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work.

If your board has an NVMe slot then it will work. That list is only what they have bought/procured/etc and tested to verify but in 99.99999% of cases storage works provided you don't do something like put an NVMe drive in a sata only M.2 slot or something.

thank you, i checked the specs, slot should really be suitable for that ssd. same class ssds are listed like western digital sn550.

i'd go for wd sn550 but its currently %35 more expensive than the a2000 in our local currency so i preferred going for a2000 for now

i hope it turns out okay!
