windows system wide ad-blocking?

I need a replacement for AdGuard for windows. adguard works where it needs to for me and does not cause issues. it can be easily disabled and is frequently updated. however, I don't want to pay for the service. is there an alternative adblocker that works system-wide for windows?

I don't have a raspberi pi so pi-hole is not an option. I don't want to keep a WSL2 linux machine running either as I need my host machine for gaming.

Edit: I basically just need some form of adblock that will work in the steam in game browser. I frequently watch YT in that broswer, but I found no way of getting ad-block to work with that other than Adguard on windows.

Edit2: I want to use cloudflare DNS so the adguard DNS is not an option either.

Try out HostsMan paired with the host file from hosts. Hosts compiles host files from sources listed at https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts.

Setting up a Pi-hole can help eliminate a good portion of advertisements. Though it won't remove YouTube ads due to how they work.

Hosts file as mentioned above can also help rid of most advertisements, but again may or may not remove YouTube ads.

Pi-holes are easy to maintain and manage. If something breaks, it's easy to figure out and fix it.

as I said. I can't do that. don't have a Pi, dont want to set up a local linux machine as I need my computer for fps games.
