Hello LTT

I am looking to build a low power server that can handle 1080p video and can host a minecraft server for 4 people.  Right now I have an old Athlon X2 240e, some HP mobo, and a 2GB stick of RAM that consumes ~50w at idle and ~70w under full load.

What would you guys use for a low power server?  Electricity is quite a bit in California so every watt counts.

Linux "nerd".  If I helped you please like my post and maybe add me as a friend :)  ^_^!

I'd use a haswell celeron.

That's a bit more expensive to build than a 1155 system.  Would a Celeron G1620 be fine?

Haswell would be better due to the lower power features.
