So I know more info will come out but I'm looking for a 3080 that's a reference design for the new EK waterblocks. No one has released any info really on their cards but I'm thinking people can post here when manufacturers update their info. I don't want to end up buying a card I can't put a waterblock on. Also I'm cardless right now and I'm itching to order it day of release.

Good consumer. buy buy buy!

EK will have a list of GPUs that are compatible with their blocks on their website, as they usually do.

https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/

For example here the ASUS Strix 3080

I'm just trying to stimulate that economy! I'm taking one for the team and doing my part.

I was unaware they had that on their site. I can only assume if they have those Asus cards on their site they will probably make blocks for them. I just don't want to buy a card and end up getting screwed when there is no block for it.

I should add, that most AIB cards seem to use the old 2x 8pin power connector, which automatically makes them non-refernce PCB cards and that the reference PCB this time has an incredibly weird shape. You will probably only find the reference PCB on the reference card and nowhere else.

From what I've heard the Founders card is not the reference design. Nvidia is basically making a custom card for the Founders so they are not considered reference design. The EK block they announced are for the reference design not the founders.

EK confirmed that FE will get a waterblock, so probably nothing to worry about there.

Oh wow...I wouldn't have expected that with the weird PCB design and stupid new vertical connector.

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/bykski-releases-first-waterblock-for-nvidia-rtx-3080-and-rtx-3090-founders-edition-cards

Bykski already has a waterblock for the founders cards. I find it funny the writer on Toms says why would you pay the premium on the founders cards to just waterblock it. Meanwhile the founders cards will be the cheapest cards at launch. According to leaked prices that have surfaces for AIB cards.

Think I’d get a reference card instead of the fe. Simply for board size. Though I may actually like the small board unless the block extends past the pcb.
Though I left the small board stuff in the 660 era.
