audio help hdmi

hi hope this is the correct thread

i have just poped in a fx550 i know its a budget card more  so as it was 1/2 price brand new  into my little media centre pc  giving the rayzen 3 3200g  a dedicated gpu  and 4gb extra ram  for better output 

but i cant get audio over the hdmi   not even detecting amd hd audio in device manager 

 

latest amd drivers20.8.3   latest bios msi from  live update 6 

no joy from msi or amd tech support (so far )

board is msi bazooka v2 b450  chipset 

cpu amd rayzen 3 3200g 

gpu msi rx 550  4gb version ( low profile ) as its a silverstone milo chassis  so gpu cards are limited  with only lp pic slots 

 

anybody had something similar and solved it ?

Are you using external speakers or the integrated ones from the tv?

hdmi via tv same cable was working carrying video  ( and continues to work) using the apu onboard if i pull the rx 550 out   , as a work around i have dug out a 3.5 cable but not ideal   i did read someplace a issue with a rx 580  and needed a beta bios flash on the mb  to enable pci to carry audio  same as my problem the amd audio hardware not detected

ok so i went on a mission and found said bios update for the board but had to manually do it the live update utility failed to install it 

 

now i have hdmi audio on the card   so fyi  this affects all rx 500 cards  not sure if its only on the b450m msi board and gpu combo  but if somebody finds this thread with the same problem i hope it helps them
