Hi,

I'm running an i9 7900X, Looking at getting the RTX 3090 but the question is will the CPU bottleneck the graphics card and if so by how much?, I'm into sims such as Flight Simulator 2020. My options are I can jump to another platform now or wait for the new Ryzen CPU's and just use the i9 with the new nvidia card in the meanwhile. Will I notice a difference from an RTX 2080Ti or will my CPU hold it back.

Wait for ampere to come out and check how it performs and how the 7900x holds up with a 3090 first.

but overall it shouldn't be a problem especially at higher resolutions. but again wait and check.

Get the card and see. If you're not getting the performance you want or expect, then you can worry about your CPU. Don't make it a problem before it actually is, if it even is.
