There would be no point in you getting a good GPU because your whole system would just bottleneck it. Your best bet is to upgrade your CPU, motherboard, RAM, GPU and possibly HDD/SSD to the best that your budget will allow. The new 750ti from Nvidia is a great choice for a GPU. Also you'll want a 64bit version of windows.

You're going to need more ram, 2GB is not going to cut it, also your Cpu is kind of outdated and if you want to upgrade in the future you should start off fresh in my opinion.

One of the recent video's LTT made shows value per fps on most games http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpGfA6g0-0Y&feature=c4-overview&list=UUXuqSBlHAE6Xw-yeJA0Tunw.

Depending on your budget I'd go with the 760K and the Nvidia 750Ti, you have your power supply already, all you'd need is a motherboard, ram and a new hard drive depending on the one you currently have.

You should expect to spend around $450 for all this as well but that depends on where you live.
