I use my 2 in 1 Dell Inspiron 13-5368 everyday to make notes using its touchscreen. It has a ghost issue, that I didn't notice at the time of purchase 4-5 years ago ( maybe, becuase I was too excited for my 1st pc). A lot of times when I use the touchscreen, there are several ghost touch issues.

Like, In OneNote which I use everyday, my pens get switched automatically in the middle of writing something, sometimes it gets switched to the stroke eraser. And let me tell ya, that last one is not funny. When I am touching something on the screen, the actual click or tap happens randomly everywhere on the screen, but not on the place where I am touching it.

But then sometimes it works normally, without any issues. And when it doesn't its so frustrating.

I have tried disabling and enabling the touchscreen in Device Manager.

I have also tried a clean install of windows, but it didn't work and I have tried uninstalling every driver and re-installing the ones that came with my PC from Dell's website.

My Laptop's Specs are :
Dell Inspiron 13-5368 with :

i3 6100u

4 GB of LPDDR4 @ 2133 MHz

256 GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD

Most ghost touch are hardware issues

But residue from fingers or if you have sweaty hands like me, could be a problem as well

So wait are you suggesting i should do ? BTW my fingers aren't sweaty most of the time

try cleaning it with a glass cleaner if it's glass surface, or water if it's matte

make sure you dont wipe gunk down the edges of the display, as it may ruin some capacitive touch interfaces.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
