The problem with wordpress and mysql and linux

hey guys :)

I'm trying to install wordpress on linux to learn.

I installed wordpress, mysql, apache, tried to link apache with mysql server. But the linkage never worked. The apache server is not able to establish a connection with the database.Tried different linux dis. . Tried many tuts, still getting error after error. Bad luck is now so bad that mysql showed my correct password incorrect on ubuntu, but that was solved on linux mint.

Do anyone knows any guide to install wordpress with minimum errors?

Apache does not connect to Mysql. Apache and MySQL both run independently as separate services. PHP code is what uses mysql.

 

What is the exact error you are getting? There is no reason to distro hop for setting up a basic web server. AMP can run on  any linux distro.

Error establishing a database connection

This error from wordpress? Make sure MySQL is running and you have configured wordpress with the correct mysql credentials.

Did you do step4? Did any errors occur when setting up the database?

No errors occured during settting up the database

Things are getting more tangled,

Php is already installed but can't open phpmyadmin ,

I think commands from all over the internet damaged things, installing Linux again, didn't backed up.

Sounds like mysql is not running to me

systemctl status mysql

will tell you if the service is running or not.

Can you still not access http://localhost/blog/wp-admin/install.php

 

What version of mysql you using?

mysql -v

apache and mysql are 2 separate servers.

Is the following uncommented in your php.ini?

extension=pdo_mysql
extension=mysqli

That is unlikely, how did you create the account and how did you test the account?

what is "localhost/blog" the url or what your using as to try to connect to MySQL with?

Did you setup phpmyadmin? it's not part of php or MySQL.

I went to official guide for installing, they made it clear how the installation works.
