Laptop Not Charging

I recently got a $35 hp elitebook 2560p for college it was bios locked and there was no battery now it runs windows and does school stuff fine. I ordered a new battery and charger it won't charger the battery the battery gets power I updated the chipset and most other drivers but still no luck the battery shows up in bios aswell

aftermarket i've never had issues with 3rd party batteries and OEM batteries cost nearly as much as I have on the rest of the laptop

I know they do, I've run across issues with IBM/Lenovo specifically, but I have seen it in HP and Dell laptops to a lesser extent.

Not saying that's the issue, just saying it might be

Unlikely to be honest, this is a hard-coded whitelist and the BIOS won't let you change this (in my experience with IBM/Lenovo specifically)

To be honest, I"d get a real OEM battery, and see what happens.
