Budget (including currency): $1200-$1500 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  Gaming

Other details

So I've got a semi cheap prebuilt that I purchased when I decided to get back into PC gaming about 18 months ago. I finally decided with several new games coming up this fall I'd really like to have a higher end build.

I'm not looking for top of the top and just kinda wanted to get some details more so if all of my parts will go together effectively. I'm trying to keep my budget in the $1200 - $1500 for the PC. I included tinyurl's for each part in case someone wants to look at them to get more details in order to better assist me. I'm not attached to anything, even the already purchased ram is still within a return period so I can send it back if need be. I really do want to stick with a RGB build just because I want to lol.

Any advice would be appreciated but please don't come at me with the leet speak and tell me how my choices are trash just help me find better options in my budget if I've missed something from not being knowledgable. TIA

well, theres no need to return the RAM, could you tell me what are its speeds though?

also, you could consider waiting a bit for the nvidia ampere and amd big navi GPUs to come out. theyre next gen gpus and are expected to be priced modestly due to competition form either side.

moreover, new amd ryzen zen3 cpus are coming as well.

however if you do not want to wait, this is a good build :D

p.s. since you like rgb you could get an A.I.O. cooler.

😕

DDR 3200 for the ram

I honestly dont know much about the AIO systems and didnt want to be intimated by them. Are they easier to work with then I think they are?

it wont harm him to have a 850w PSU, plus next gen nvidia gpus are expected to be power hogs. might as well get as much as you can.

yeah the cost in the power supplies are so little when you go up I wasn't worried about trimming any money there as its only a savings of $15-$30 bucks

20 bucks extra for the wifi flavor of the b550f. you could also just get the b450f and save 80 bucks with zero drawbacks, or spend a few bucks extra for 3600mhz ram with this setup. you wont see the nvme rgb lol, so just get a nice ol sn550. nitro plus 5700xt looks absolutely amazing and has rgb and all that. p400a has rgb and good airflow, cheaper than that weird thing you linked. fractal platinum rated psu, great unit and if ya want the 660w instead its 10 bucks cheaper

if you wanna go the aio route then itd make sense to get a 10600k and all that, but itd go over your budget by about 20 bucks to get all the rgb. aios are easy to work with and not very spooky but they cost a lot

see this is why I posted here. I knew somebody would be able to make my idea into something more realistic. That case is much sleeker then the one I was able to track down and honestly wasn't really sold on the case I selected so appreciate you finding that case for me

np man, for ram i'd send the corsair stuff back for https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jxH8TW/gskill-trident-z-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-32gtzrc or https://pcpartpicker.com/product/w3FKHx/gskill-trident-z-neo-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-32gtznc. no complicated ocing, good gainz for ryzen systems.

this would give you around 40-50% more performance , for gaming the r7 3700x is not needed but would recommend if u r doing some editing or professional work... the ssd is up to u if u want to save some bucks and u can get something less than 650w psu  if u want , but i would keep it

3200 is good, consider 3600 for a better experience and to get more performance out of your ryzen cpu, since ryzen benefits from faster memory

installing an AIO is not as easy as installing an air cooler, but its not that difficult either; just that theyre more expensive than an air cooler

id suggest getting the 3700x, as its got 8cores compared to the 6 cores on the 3600, and games are starting to use more and more cores as they keep on getting better.

again, id suggest waiting another 1 month for the new generation of gpus, but you can buy now if you really need it.

😕

also looks like that power supply is on backorder, anything else you might suggest or do you think I should hold out for it?

whoops it goes in and out of stock. but yeah any other suggestions in this thread are fine too. that one being platinum rated is nice but not a biggie, thats the main reason its already gone lol
