OS slow boot

kiK

I have installed 256gb SSD in my laptop  but still I feel some minor latency while booting it takes like around 12secs to load my screen.  But it's possible to boot it in 4-6secs. Can anyone suggest me some options to minimise my boot time..

Thanks in advance

12 seconds is plenty fast for an SSD. Keep in mind that boot time is also dependent on how fast the computer can POST. Updating the BIOS, changing boot priorities, and decreasing POST delays can all help speed up boot times.

Check your bios for a fast startup option and enable it if you havent already, usually under ram options.

That should help a little on times because memory doesn't do a self-check  before booting to windows with it enabled.

After updating my bios this started to happen.. before it was like around 6-7secs now sometimes there will drop in fps even while surfing.. it shows some minor latency which was quite smooth before the bios update. I own a gl63 8rc msi.. so help me bro

I think you just saw a random video on youtube booting a PC in 4 secs. Most of the time it does not work that way. it was probably from hibernation

Not sure there's much you can do. MSI does not appear to be offering previous BIOS revisions on their website. I assume you are running E16P6IMS.109 from https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GL63-8RC?
