I don't think it'll do you much good to use that CPU for a server while you're also trying to run the game itself. Minecraft can be very CPU intensive, and an aging dual-core isn't the best option for a host.

Could be your local connection. Are either your server or client PC hooked up via ethernet? Also, what router are you using?

I am using g3100 from verizon and am using an Ethernet cable. I getting 600 mbps up and down using ooklas speed test

even separate, an i3 is just not enough for latest Minecraft versions. Minecraft is very poorly made and cares only about single core performance. Try running 1.12 or lower before Minecraft got really bad

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

Then what cpu do you recommend to run the latest version of minecraft (1.16.2)? i am using an msi b150 pc mate and would prefer to not buy a new motherboard as well.

I’ve gotten this error before on my old PC with an i5 750, it’s your CPU.

For a Minecraft server, all you need is a recent dual or quad core chip and at least 2 gigabytes of dedicated ram for 16-32 players so if you have a spare laptop that has a broken screen or something you should use that.

Kogan 144hz monitor (Overclocked to 165) Ryzen 3 3100, RX 580 Gigabyte Windforce (1450 mhz) 2 x 8GB CL15 DDR4 3133 (Overclocked from 2400) Phanteks P300 white (RGB set to purple), Zarrius Deskpad (I have the yellow one), Razer Deathadder Essential, CK62 wireless (don’t use it wireless)

I dont have a laptop and do not want to upgrade my motherboard as well is ther any cpu that would run a 1.16.2 minecraft server with an msi b150 pc mate motherboard.

Just look for the best i5 you can get on that platform, it shouldn’t be really expensive and it will run a Minecraft server as long as it’s not modded.

You want a CPU with good architecture and a high clock rate. Unfortunately, you already have about as good a CPU as you're going to get in that board. Might be better to go to Realms or rent out a Minecraft server till you can build something more substantial with a modern i5 or Ryzen CPU.

Unfortunately they are kinda expensive. I'm seeing $350 new for a 7600k

Running a minecraft server doesn't use much CPU. It's only RAM intensive. I've hosted MC servers with Bukkit on a Xeon L3406 without any problems and the 6100 gets a 4 times better score at passmark than the Xeon.

My stuff:

Spoiler

CPU :  Intel i5 8400 | GPU : MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4GB

RAM : 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @ 3600MHz

Mouse : Logitech G502 HERO SE | Keyboard : Mountain Everest Max w/ Cherry MX Brown

Headset : Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro 250Ω w/ AT2020USB+

Monitor : Acer XF240H @  144Hz
