PiHole Doesn't Work

I have a piHole on a Vultr VPS and it installed properly but when I try to access the web interface it instantly blocks it. Also when I set my DNS to the IP it doesn't work. Any ideas to make it work? Wireguard works fine and I don't have any custom firewall rules at the moment.

Are you trying to access pihole web UI through internet or through its VPN IP address? I would not suggest you to run a DNS server through internet (because thats what DNS amplification attack utilises). I have a very similar setup. I got PH installed on the server, I blocked DNS and WEB UI port with UFW and allowed it in just VPN subnet. I use my router to handle traffic side of things in my house, like which devices gets its traffic routes, which domains and ips gets redirected over VPN however all traffic is redirected to my pihole server. Also piHoles default configuration does not allow queries from internet.

Yeah in the past I've enabled the lightspeed interface when I wanted to change settings than I disable it. I also use some pretty good protection that prevents amplification attacks but yes the risk is always there. It just seems like something is blocked. Maybe it's on the wrong interface? In the CLI I can see it's running and I can adlists and things like. Should I use the FQDN for the DNS instead of just the IP?

To get the web interface but now it only resolves from localhost so I think there's something else turned on
