If it's under warranty, I would try Alienware Support first. That sounds to me like bad or dried up thermal compound, but it's always better try the conventional support channels first, before pulling things apart.

Hi guys, so a few years back I purchased a Alienware 15 R4 here is whats happening.

My laptop has been "overheating" recently with temperature reaching around 90-100 just surfing the web. After around 10 minutes of VR starts lagging and pretty much unplayable. 

This is most likely a hardware issue so how would I go upon fixing this?

Yes this is under warranty

You're right! It won't!

 

But getting a support ticket, being issued a shipping label, going to your post office, mailing it, it arriving at a Dell repair facility, them re-applying the thermal compound, and then shipping it back to you will definitely clean your laptop.

You can always find a qualified computer repair shop. They should be able to take care of it for you, assuming they know what they're doing. Have no idea how much they might charge for this though.

If you're not comfortable taking it apart and putting it back together, then I would definitely recommend you send it in.
