I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 on an Acer laptop, and I had to use these instructions to get it to boot: https://askubuntu.com/questions/862946/unable-to-install-ubuntu-on-acer-aspire-es1-533/876153#876153

I'm trying to run CentOS 8 on a USB drive, and I have tried using these commands to get it to work, but it doesn't accept them. (CentOS is currently looping at startup just like Ubuntu did before I made the changes shown) I also cannot get rEFInd to work. Now, if I understand what I did with Ubuntu, I have moved the boot files to a new directory. Could that be the cause of my current problems? Does Grub have to be installed twice? I can't really find a clear answer on how to proceed.
