So awhile ago I heard about something called Nvidia Optimus in laptops with Nvidia cards. How can I tell if a laptop i want will have this feature? Or do all Nvidia cards automatically have it? and does it only work with Intel CPUs, or do AMD ones work as well?

Speaking of AMD, do their cards have a feature similar to this?

It is a feature that has the GPU switch automatically between the integrated graphics on the CPU and the dedicated graphics on the GPU.

As far as i know, all laptops with Nvidia dedicated graphics have this feature. As far as I know, it should work with both AMD and Intel CPU's.

I would not worry about this when selecting a laptop. Any laptop will switch automatically between dGPU and iGPU based on workload. Otherwise the battery life would be horrible. I am sure AMD has something similar, although I don't know what it is called.
