If I want to switch to AMD.....

So my question is, If I want to go AMD, do I just need a new motherboard, CPU and water block for the CPU? I'm pretty sure the answer is yes but this was my first time building a computer so just double checking. The reason I want to switch is if the new graphics cards are PCIE 4.0 I want to get all the performance I pay for. I am shooting for the 3080 ti or whatever the top end card will be called. Even if its only a minor gain in performance over pcie 3.0

I included a CPU water block because I have a custom loop for my CPU currently.

at this point, intel is still better at gaming than AMD, pcie 4.0 or not

i would wait for reviews on both platform before deciding which to get, if you want the top FPS

i doubt pcie4.0 would matter for games today, but not sure if future games will require that bandwidth

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

You will need a new CPU and motherboard, but 99% of waterblocks are compatible with both AMD and Intel
