I've gotten this screen at startup right after the mobo splash page, twice now. A simple restart fixes it but is this a hardware issue or software?

Still under warranty but it's going to be a pain to RMA

I would just rma it.

really he should try stuff before, because in the end it might be a cpu or monitor issue and then its just a pain to rma it for nothing!

So yah try other cable, also what driver are you using, maybe use a beta drive and see weather it still bugs. If you have onboard graphics or an older gnu try those out.

My 7950 did the same thing.

Spent hours trying to figure what happened. Turned my computer on and it was like that one day.

RMA it right away.

That's what I did. Then in the mean time I bought another really nice one and then sold the RMA on on the list of craig afterwards.

Otherwise just get a cheapo vid card in the mean time.

However if you have a game addiction, then you might want to buy one thats nice lol

As Han Solo once said, "That's no moon"-itor issue.

That is GPU buffer corruption.  Uninstall video driver, reseat video card and power to video, install another driver version, and try again.  Still have issues? RMA card immediately.

I'll be doing a reformat this weekend to test.

  • 2 weeks later...

Problems are persisting and I came across some weird marking on the PCB of the card... This can't be water damage? I have my top case vents sealed and the side panel is always on.

Going to be RMA-ing the card but I'm curious as to what this could be.

most likely is not water damage. I had the same issue randomly one day.

It will should actually run fine without drivers. But as soon as you install drivers it goes burzurk
