Alright so I've noticed that recently my HT PC has developed an stuttering issue. Generally I put on Youtube after work, and last week I noticed that every minute or two (it's not periodic though) that my audio would stutter/smear for a second then return to normal. It sounds like what audio used to do on slower/older computers when you would load a new page while watching something.

Because of this I thought it was due to my router acting up, but after combing through that and I noticed this issue doesn't show up on my work laptop on the same network. So after that I updated my NVIDIA driver and Windows 10, but I'm still having this issue. Do any of you have any ideas for what might be causing this?

PC Specs:

Ryzen 3600 (running Windows 10 Pro, OS Build 19041.450)

RTX 2060 KO (using HDMI to my LG TV, Driver rev 452.06)

32GB 3600hz

Gigabyte B450 Aorus M

I have noticed this as well, rarely on a Youtube video, but very commonly in gaming. I am in the process of updating all drivers directly from the manufacturer rather than using Windows Update or the Gigabyte update manager. If that is unsuccessful, my only remaining possiblity is that my video card is just too old, as I am still using a GeForce GT710. I did notice that the issue was somewhat cleared up after I disabled a second instance of input

My PC Specs

Ryzen 5 3600

PNY GeForce GT 710 2gb

32gb memory running at 2933 mhz

Gigabyte B450 Aorus M

Update : Updated drivers had no effect, but I did notice that the front panel audio was continuously connecting a device even though nothing was plugged in. I disabled the device in the sound devices panel, and unplugged the lead from the motherboard. I have not encountered stuttering in any instance since. I am unsure if this is a problem with the front panel/case hardware, or if it is a problem with the motherboard. if you do not use your front panel audio at all like me, I would suggest doing the same.

Update number 2 : replaced the aging case with a new one, plugged HD audio in, no issues.
