Yea probably go 2x2tb in raid 1 then. Extra space is nice and its not much more.

 

Also do you still have that server 2008 system, replace that asap.

Yea, its a premade nas, works with active directory..

 

Those work pretty well for small businesses and lots of people use them as small business file servers.

Lol, yes it is a problem that 2008. We are also looking for some licenses of new win server.

Why not get one new server tht does actively direcotry nd file servers and then put server 2019 on it?

Ok i will look what can i get here in my country. At first i tougth of a NAS, less problems. If you tell me that is working and i will have olny few problems i will look for using one of this.
And use the rest of the budget in update de 2008 server

I'd get one server to work as both the file server and a new domain controller for active directory. I don't see a reason to have 2 boxes. This a is a normal small business config.

Ok. I would look to see a PC for this. I will see if hp/lenovo/dell have some small for this purpose and if the sold with the windows server.
