I have windows installed on a SSD and the recovery partition is on an old 300gb HDD.

If I remove the HDD or if I select the SSD as the primary boot drive, windows doesn't boot

even if I put Windows boot manager as the secondary boot drive, windows wont boot.

how do I fix this so that Windows will just boot off my SSD?

disconnect the HDD, re-install Windows on the SSD.

Boot, ensure it's working. Then plug in HDD and erase what's on there.

What did you use to install Windows with, in the 1st place?
