Hey guys, its my first time building a PC. I live in Bolivia and parts here are extremely expensive so i decided to buy everything from amazon and a friend of mine is gonna bring em for me from the states, now i need to be sure that the parts are compatible and that the pc will work once i put it togetter, and since the parts are coming from abroad there is no way to return them if i mess up chossing the right parts.  i would like you all to help me, just to make sure the parts are compatible, and hear yall's opinion about this set up and if you think that there is a better option for the setup i would gladly listen and make the necesary changes so i can build a good PC.

thanks alot.

the parts will all be compatible, 500gb storage is quite low though, i would change to at least 1tb, or add an hdd(a lot slower though). if you are looking to save money, the 3900x is way overkill for gaming only, a 3600 or 3700x is more than enough, and a 500w-550w would be more than enough. also, the samsung evo plus is a great m.2, but if you are looking to save money, the p1 has been as reliable as my 970, but a lot cheaper. again, build will work fine as-is.

hello bmx and thanks for you reply, one more question, about the cpu, psu, and storage.

CPU: i plan to use it to edit video later on, would the 3700x would be enought? i want something to stay good enough for a good 5 years. would you still go with the 3700x?

PSU: how do you determine the overhead you need in terms of wattage, according to new egg calculator the system will consume 480w but the guys on LTT say to overreach a little, so is 500 enough ?

storage : last question in terms of speed just for the system, can i combine the p1 and the samsung 970? (btw i have an ssd 1tb samsung that im gonna port from my old dead laptop)

thanks for the help and sorry for the question, but as i mentioned before is my first time and there are so many things i still have trouble understanding. and as i mentioned before not an option to get it build here (Bolivia) since its a ripoff.

Thanks.

im not too knowledgeable on editing, i think a 3700x would be fine, but hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in, maybe a 3800x might be better

i usually like to have 100-150w overhead, psu's don't always give out as many watts as listed (cheaper ones especially), and it gives you more room for upgrade in the future. so a 550w should be enough, but a 650w would be more than enough, and ensure you have room for future upgrades. (psu's aren't my niche, but afaik that's accurate)  if anything, i would recomend something better than the evga br, it will work, but there are better options. here is a list from people who know alot more about psu's:

you can combine for sure, although the 970(or P1) will pair well with the 1tb sata ssd you already have, and save you money vs buying another m.2
