Hello everyone!

This is my very first post here and what better way to start off than asking for advice regarding a computer build?  :D

It will be my first computer that I've ever assembled myself, having watched all of Linus' computer build videos I feel confident in pulling this off.

I do however have some questions!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. I've done some research but I need to make sure; are the parts I've selected compatible with each other?

1b. If some parts aren't, what should I get instead?

2. If everything is compatible but there's still something you would change, what would that be?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here we have the link to the parts: https://www.komplett.se/k/shoplist.aspx?mode=receive&si=1361362&su=138AA27F-891B-4BDD-A3A7-FBF91F5D12A8

This will be a pure gaming machine, with the games being played mostly being World of Warcraft, Battlefield 4 and GTA5 whenever it's released for PC.

I would like to keep the price around 15-16k SEK, but the absolute limit would be 17k.

I am very keen on following the green theme while also keeping everything as tidy as possible inside the case, hence the sleeved cable kit.

If anyone would be willing to check it out I would be very appreciative!

If you don't do heavy editing (3D, video, image, etc) you don't need the i7. The 4670k and 8Gb of RAM will be just fine for gaming. :)

Other than that, pretty solid gaming rig I like it, I don't see anything wrong with the parts compatibility. I would personally get either a better CPU cooler (ex: h100i) or just a regular air cooler (212EVO) if you don't want to OC that much.

step down to 8 gigs of 1600/1866MHz Ram, if you really want 16 gigs get 1600/1866MHz the extra cost for 2400MHz ram isnt worth it for gaming.

Also a I5 4670K will do fine, you may see 1-4 FPS more in games with a I7 than an I5.

everything else looks good.

Pretty nice build! The RAM is super overkill though, just get some cheaper 1600mhz kit. Also downgrading the i7 to an i5 4670k (as previously suggested by @Drown ) wouldn't hit your gaming performance and save you some money for a bigger/better SSD.

Definitely want to put in another vote for lower speed RAM. 2400MHz won't help you at all, and in fact, might hurt you more. Latency is much more important to everyday tasks, and the extra bandwidth won't really help at all, at the cost of higher latency, so just go with 1600/1866 which tend to come with CL timings of 8 or even 7, much better than your current 11.

Also, it looks like you chose the reference 780, and while it's a good card, with a nice big tower you've chosen, there isn't much reason to get the reference as opposed to one with an after market cooler. EVGAs with the ACX cooler is generally considered the best performing, but ASUS's Direct CU II and Msi's Windforce also have high reviews. You'll get better temperatures on your GPU and thus better performance so I would suggest going that route.

Workstation: i7-4930k | Asus Rampage IV Gene | Reference GTX 780 | 32GB Crucial Ballistix | 500GB Samsung 840 EVO | Corsair RM650 | MidNight Black BitFenix Prodigy M

Old Rigi5-2500k @ 4.7 GHz | Asus P8P67 Deluxe | EVGA GTX 560 | 16GB Corsair Vengeance | 240 GB Samsung 830 Pro | 1TB Hitachi | CoolerMaster Storm Scout (1)
