Selected boot device failed.

I have this old dell computer and it says “Selected boot device failed” I’m running a optiplex 390 and idk why it’s saying this it was working earlier please help

You should first check within the BIOS which boot device is selected and if the selected one is the correct boot device.

did you do anything special with the pc before it stopped working? like moving it, unplugging certain things? and have u checked if the hard drive or ssd is plugged in correctly? it might be plugged in far enough for it to be recognized by the pc but not for it to actually transfer any data

i had put in a new power supply, ram and a new 1050 but it stopped working so i put the original parts back in and it still didnt work. worked before i touched it in the first place
