Everything GPU program is crashing..

So, I used the dual bios switch to switch to a different bios and now the problem is that every app or program that I launch crashes after 3 to 5 secs into it, like Unigune Valley, and far cry 3 just freezes and Battlefield 3 and 4 give me this error "Directx fucntion "getdeviceRemovedreason" failed with DXGI_Error_Device_HUNG("The appication's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed") GPU "AMD Radeon R9 200 series", Driver 13.12"

 

any thoughts??

Try the usual first, run DDU found here:

Follow the prompts to restart and such, DDU completely removes all traces of a previous driver allowing for a clean install. Install the latest 14.2 B1.3 which can also be found on that site, or you can try AMD webby for the download. I have a HD7970 (basically an R9 280X) and it loves the 14.2, no issues with games whatsoever.

 

BTW, forgot to ask, was your card running well before you switched to a different BIOS?

ya it was running perfectly fine except I had the issue where my gpu usage would go down as I lwer the details in game. I was having this problem in game like bf3, bf4, far cry3. But the game ran fine except low fps in some parts of map due to low gpu usage.

and even gpu fans doesn't seem to ramp up and down after launching valley benchmark, even though it crashes in 3 seconds. I tried to uninstall drivers using Driver sweeper and installing them back, still nothing.

Ugh, don't tell me the BIOS is borked. Best for you to RMA that card since I'm sure it's still under warranty....

Nah, i switched back the BIOS Switch and it's working fine but still getting low gpu usage on Frostbite games.

Low GPU usage in BF4(and 3) is nothing out of the ordinary.

Even with dual R9 290X in CFX, I do have minor lag sometimes, with games like BF4, Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3, I put it to the game engine not being polished/optimized.....and sometimes, dual cards do have some hiccups during gameplay. Low GPU usage is prolly an indicator of two things, one I'd mentioned, and the second being driver.

Ok that's exactly what I thought and I was waiting for mantle and after trying mantle (driver with 14.2) the results were same, the gpu usage would go down when I lower the details. That's when I thought maybe there's something with the bios.
