home server planning

ok so i have a few components left over from previous builds so the build might not be 100% desirable for the application.

so the parts i already have are an fx-6300 (im planing on under clocking it) and a bitfenix shinobi and a Noctua NH-D14

 

ok so here is the build plan...so far

CPU: FX-6300 under clocked FREE

GPU: GT 610 silent edition  49$

PSU: Aerocool GT-500SG 500W Gold Modular 109$

MoBo: ASUS M5A99FX-PRO-R2

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 FREE

RAM: G.Skill F3-1600C11D-16GNT 16GB 2x8GB 185$

 

Fans: 4 AP122 FREE

Case: bitfenix shinobi FREE

 

Storage: 4 X WD red 3TB WD30EFRX 179$ each

or  4 X Seagate NAS 3TB ST3000VN000 169$ each

 

OS: FreeNas

You don't need that much ram for a home media server.
