hello,

today i was looking to overclokc my i7-5820k to 4ghz from 3.3(base) but i wasnt really sure about what voltage i should put in so i watched linuses video on how to overlock an i7-5820k and came to the realisation that my cpu voltage was way too high for example my voltage was around 1.9V without overclocking and linus said to put the voltage at 1.2/1.3 when overcloking to 4.5 ghz. Now i am unsure of what i should put my cpu voltage at. Any help is appreciated.

Btw my pc still idels around 28-32 degrees celcius idk how?

are you sure it is 1.9? because that will kill your cpu pretty quickly. update the bios and clear the cmos and then check.

what software are you using to monitor voltage?

TofuHaroto is correct that voltage is way to high. You need to use HWinfo64 to monitor your voltages.

I looked at the voltage a little further and i found out that thats the input voltage and the normal cpu voltage is 1.03 which is set at auto in the bios so I am guessing everything is ok.
