how do i do that. can you elaborate

Plex: http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/14/setting-up-a-plex-environment/

The instructions are similar for Windows once you get past installing Ubuntu.

Forget about RealPlayer Cloud. It's all cloud based and only comes with 2GB free storage.

What modem/router (assuming nz) do you have, because some of the new-ish ones such as my netgear dgnd4000 support network accessible storage plugged straight into router via usb. I have an external hdd with media on it and anyone on the network can view it. Could be a potential solution if your tv has wifi or supports wifi adaptors
