FPs dropping randomly in games

Good evening.

So I have been having this problem a for years now and I can not come to a conclusion.

The problem: my fps randomly drop in games and it is strange because I have a fairly good system for the type of games I play. For example i will take League of Legends, the FPs will be at 60 which is normal but when the minions spawn my FPs go down to 25. Can anyone help me with this? Here is my system:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+ Dual core 2.4GHz running at 2.7GHz

GPU: ATI Radeon 5570 1GB GDDR3 128bit

Mobo: ASRock N68-S

RAM: 3GBs DDR2 800MHz PQI

Power Supply: UCom 450W 80+

HDD: 160GBs Excel Sto r 8MBs Cache

all i can think of is viruses hardware or os (maybe new system)

im going to guess its your gpu...

 

Edit: quick google search and ive learnt LOL is cpu based so maybe its your dual core? ive never played a game like that so i dont know much about it apparently u can get 100+fps with that card which is just mind boggling to me

Check the VRAM usage while playing. you may be capping the 1024MB

well the minions do have AI so its probably that your system just isnt up to the task. even for LOL that system isnt that good.you could easily build a system for around $350-$400 (without OS) thatll run LOL and other games like it easily. might be worth saving up for

Look guys, I just remembered something. While I was playing LOL on my old mobo it was running perfectly at 80 FPs with the same components but then my mobo and PSU died and I changed them so the problem has to be the PSU or the mobo.

It cant be the CPU because I played it at a friends house with the same CPU but another GPU (GT220) so the CPU is not the problem.

But wait. I think i solved the problem. I have 6 MOLEX coolers installed, so maybe my system is lacking power?
