PREDATOR vs FURY - Kingston HyperX line-up

Hey there, I am a little bit confused and wondering, what is the DIFFERENCE between:
Kingston HyperX PREDATOR vs. Kingston HyperX FURY

Since they seem to have exactly same specifics, and only difference being few bucks and heatspreader? Or is there more going on?

Seems to just be the heatspreaders. 

if I was to guess, I’d say the cheaper version has worse imcs.

The problem is that depending on specific models and retailers and their margins and demand for the product, the prices CAN and actually ARE not just similar, but actually going back and forth :D Just adding to confusion, which line is the "better" one, even if slightly :D Thus why this thread 😞

RAM is basically:

- silicon quality, unobservable to you

- Frequency it can reach (the higher the better)

- Timings for that frequency (the lower the better)

- voltage to reach those frequency-timing combinations (usually not much variation)

Nothing else really matters. Warranty, at best.

 

Typically all of that is a function of silicon quality + marketing strategies (the same sticks can be sold as high frequency / high timings or low frequency / low timings under different names), so there isn't much in the name - it may have more to do with looks (the design of the heat-spreader) than the memory itself.
