Considering upgrade

Hi all,

 

I'm considering an upgrade as it's been a good few years now - mainly just to get the best out of upcoming titles this year. I'm thinking of doing CPU first and then graphics at a later date but happy to consider. Details of current rig below, any advice would be appreciated!

 

Intel Core i5-6500

16GB DDR4-3200

GTX 1060 6GB

what is your budget? what country will you be purchasing in? what will you do with the PC?

You could put any 9th gen intel processor in there. An i5 9600 will be good. 

If you were to upgrade your gpu then a 5700xt would be a good pair

No he can't - nothing past the 7000 series is supported.

Get a Ryzen 5 3600 and a B450 Pro4

He has an i5 6500 - it doesn't work in 1151v2...

Sorry all for failing to add some important info there, buying in the UK budget is mid range I’m willing to spend a bit as I only do these upgrades every few years. Was considering RTX cards for the graphics upgrade potentially.

 

Ryzen 5 3600 also something I’ve been looking at seems like a good option. New motherboard is definitely on the list as current one is a cheap MSI one that’s why I didn’t list it as I’m more than happy to replace it!
