Creating an external hdd.

Go to solution Solved by Kilrah,

This type typically works only for 2.5" drives, you need to make sure to get one that supports 3.5" ones if that's what you have. They'll have an additional power supply you need to plug in to the wall. USB2 or 3 doesn't matter.

Hello.

I have a WD black hdd in here, 7200rpm 2tb.

I wonder can I connect it to my laptop via usb to sata connector?

The ones I found have usb 3.0 my laptop have 2.0, there are a few with usb 2.0 but they have 2 usb that I have to connect and I wanna know can I get one with usb 3.0 and connecting it to my laptop?

For a desktop drive you'll need a USB HDD Enclosure since it will need an external power brick to power the drive but yes, it will work fine.
