Most b450 boards ship with the new bios.

If it didn't just ask the vendor / computer store to update the bios for you.

If they have a sticker that says ryzen 3000 ready then that means that it does

MSI max boards ship with zen 2 support as well.

So if you want to be extra sure.

Go with a tomhawk max or a mortar max or a pro vdh max or an a pro max ( non m )

All of these boards ship with zen 2 support.

What are your current parts?

Most b450 motherboards support ryzen 3rd gen out of the box now. Which specific one are you talking about?

Also, by Christmas ryzen 4000 should be out so if you don’t have the cpu already, you might want to grab a 4000 instead of 3000.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Quote or tag me so I can see your response

Don't. Bad value and doesn't bring much to the table.

whats a good cheap motherboard that can handle ryzen 7 3700x

A pro max.

Pro 4 and the pro vdh max. Are the cheapest boards that can handle around 100A of current ( what an overlocked 3700x usually consumes )

But like what @zeusthemoose said.

If your upgrading in December. Wait for zen 3.
