Hello everybody,

Just built a new rig :

CPU : Ryzen 5 3600

RAM : HyperX 16GB (2x8) (rgb) 3200 Mhz CL16 (HX432C16FB3AK2/16)

Motherboard : Asus TUF B550 PLUS GAMING

GPU : Radeon rx 5700 XT ( Sapphire Pulse model)

PSU : LDLC 650W 80+ gold fully modular

Case : Corsair Spec delta RGB

SSD : Kingston A20000 500GB NVMe

DOCP is enabled (profile #1 at 3200 Mhz) - mobo BIOS is flashed - Erp S4 + S5 enabled

Everything works fine, unless I cannot perform a cold boot with DOCP enabled. It boots after I press the reset button on the case. From a cold boot it does not post and the mobo displays a constant orange DRAM led (fans light up and spin, ram lights turn on late, do not sync). After that, i press the reset button and it boots like nothing ever happened. Also, it does not look like its fully stable at 3200 but I don't know since I did not have the time to run a full memtest bench (only 2 passes not 4 @3200 - fully stable @2400).

For the record, it did that before i enabled Erp settings - boots fine without the DOCP settings enabled.

The ram kit is not on the mobo's QVL, so its not supposed to be fully compatible. The thing is it's just a basic 3200 rgb HyperX kit. How could I be able to find the right timings for the kit in order to set it manually ? I tried the indicated XMP CPU-Z timings but it looks like its not stable : one time I booted the PC, an error occured and the timings changed on their own.

Or should I wait for a motherboard BIOS update that will make it compatible ? Is it ever going to happen ?

Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated

first of all please write this in white so people who use dark mode can see it.

second of all

clear the cmos

set the soc to 1.1

dram to 1.35 and then manually do 3000 with docp on

use memtest86 and OCCT to make sure it's stable

if it is

go for 3200 and use memtest86 and OCCT

@gloop beat me to it this time lol.

Alright @TofuHaroto @gloop I am back with some testing.

Did reset cmos

Did set SOC and DRAM voltages at 1.1 and 1.35

tried to boot at 3000 with default (JEDEC) timings, booted, gave me weird timings when I checked in CPU-Z (22-21-21 instead of 17-17-17)

tried to boot at 3000 with DOCP profile enabled - booted fine - timings stayed still (16-18-18) - succeeded in cold booting afterwards

tried to boot at 3200 with DOCP profile enabled - booted fine- timings stayed still - failed in cold booting afterwards

Are they in slot 2 and 4 ?

Try setting the  dram voltage to 1.4 and then check.

Tried 1.4 dram voltage, still cannot cold boot.

Soc to 1.15 and then try.

Do you have the latest bios?

Either the IC's are not good enough or somehow the imc isn't

Do you have your FCLK set to 1600?

have no idea what IC and IMC is though

The imc = Integrated memory controller.

IC = the dram chips that are on the stick.
