Text not overflowing

wall03

Browser, version and OS: Ubuntu 20.04.1, Firefox 77.0.1

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Seemingly random, happened once before (forgot when) but didn't report it.

What happened?

Me being a web dev, I think it is the CSS overflow selector not working (or not?). It might also be that there wasn't enough space for all the articles to fit. It happened on the topics sidebar on just about every page of this site. Hard to describe, see photo below.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected everything else on the list of most recent posts to shift down

This is not an OS issue, but more of a Web Browser issue. Possible issue with the HTML or CSS parser. Maybe the css-property this forum uses isn't recognized by the browser engine you are using?

maybe. I do see how FireFox on Ubuntu might be slightly overlooked. It has only happen once before, but next time I see it I might see if Brave has the same problem.

You should check Chrome and see if the problem exists. if it exists, then is probably an issue with the Browser and Kernel layer.

Its fine. Probably boot into Live CD mode then install on there to keep data private.

When you boot into recovery mode on Ubuntu, you get the option to boot into a Live CD mode without installing the OS onto your system!

This is like an extra extra private mode.

No, this is a valid thing to report. Chrome and Firefox on all desktop platforms should be fully supported.

However, that's really weird, and I can neither see any reason why it would happen (the entries in that list aren't doing anything fancy with CSS), nor reproduce it with other examples of long topic titles. Was it just when you were viewing that topic, or did it stay messed up as you visited other pages on the site?

I didn't think to go to a different web page and by the time I got a screenshot there most likely was another post posted. Next time I have to note this.
