I have issues playing with my Vive.

R9 3900x

2080 Ti

Valve Index@144 100% res scale

I get constant stuttering and framedrops. My GPU utilization is only up to about 65% though.

Running msi combustor I can get up to full utilization.

I am suspecting some sort of FPS limiter. Riva was set to 160 which should not affect the index at 144. I have since removed the Riva cap and the issues persists. Steam VR home performance is absolutely terrible with reprojection abotu every second and a completely dropped black frame every hand full seconds. I tried playing beat saber and the baseline performance is much better at about 2.3ms frametime but during levels I still felt stutters.

The advanded frametime plot by steam VR shows that indeed the GPU is to slow but I don't really understand what the issue might be. I tried the newest Nvidia driver but it didn't work any better and the release note mention HDCP erros with the Valve index so I rolled back to 445.87 which is the version I had before and the last version without the HDCP error in the release notes.

Any idea what to do? THis occured kinda suddenly. I'd say two weeks ago this wasn't an issue but I obviousl didn't monitor GPU suage all the time. I just didn't feel ingame issues. I noticed that my OC profile randomly dissappeared from Afterburner. This might have somethign to do with it. One time I could fix it by OCin my GPU which got the clocks stable and therefore the utilization. This hasn't worked since.

I am worried about some bubbles in my loop because my watercooled 2080 ti is running at 74C under load. Water temperature is reported to be 40C max.
